By Staff | Feb 11, 2020

Parkersburg, W.Va. – The Hometown Racing Association is excited to announce a marketing partnership between the Tyler County Speedway and West Virginia University at Parkersburg for the upcoming 2020 season.

The Tyler County Speedway welcomes WVU Parkersburg as our new Victory Lane sponsor at America’s Baddest Bullring for the 46th season of continuous racing action at the Middlebourne, WV oval. The checkerboard square of the WVU Parkersburg Victory Lane at the Bullring is a coveted destination, from the youngsters of the Mini Wedge division to the pros of the many circuits that travel to the Tyler County Speedway. Every week trackside Victory Lane will adorn the WVU Parkersburg branding along with a special Victory Lane behind the grandstands allowing for popular fan interaction all summer long.

“We are really excited about partnering with the Tyler County Speedway to provide opportunities for our students to experience one of the traditions of West Virginia culture in dirt track racing,” said WVU Parkersburg Vice President of Institutional Advancement Torie Jackson. “We participate in partnerships in each of our service counties to demonstrate our commitment to serving the students and the community. This is an example of that collaboration with Tyler County.”

The multi-faceted partnership will also see the Tyler County Speedway host a WVU Parkersburg Student Night on Saturday, May 16. A big night is planned as all WVU Parkersburg students and area junior and senior high school students will receive a FREE ticket to a night of exciting short track racing courtesy of the fine folks at WVU Parkersburg. Plus, it’s ‘Meet Your Heroes’ Autograph Night at intermission allowing fans to head trackside and meet many of the racers.

“We are extremely excited to be partnering with WVU Parkersburg for the 2020 season through our Victory Lane exposure and promoting the benefits of attending the college,” said Tyler County Speedway promoter John Watson. “We especially look forward to hosting a great Student Night in May. The WVU Parkersburg brand is well known throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley and beyond. They will be excellent partners of America’s Baddest Bullring.”

While many offseason improvements have been ongoing – including a massive bleacher renovation – plans have been coming together in anticipation of the new season. The annual Test n’ Tune is slated for Saturday, March 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the 46th Annual Season Opener set to take the green the following Saturday, April 4, with Bridgeport Equipment Night.
