Knights Get Big Win Vs. Devils
Tyler Consolidated made the trip to Ravenswood worthwhile on Thurday, as they snapped out of a losing streak to get a nice 47-41 win over the Red Devils.
Ravenswood had the games top scorer in Annie Hunt with 18 points including a 16-23 effort from the free throw line, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the balanced scoring of the Knights who landed seven players in the scoring column.
Kelsi Vandruff and Summer Miller led the attack with nine points each followed by Lauren Templeton with eight. Caleigh Phillips and Landry Buchanan each added six, while Regan Smith got five and Allie Miller four.
The Knights jumped on top early in the first quarter to take a 16-5 lead that would carry them to the win. The home team Red Devils were forced to play catch up the rest of the way, but couldn’t overcome the deficit.
Tyler hit on 17 attempts from the floor and made 13-19 free throws for their point total while the Red Devils only managed nine field goals but cashes in on 23-35 foul shots.The Silver Knights improved to (4-13) with the win.
Silver Knights fall to St. Marys 56-36
Tyler Consolidated stayed close in the first half on Tuesday night, January 28, at home against St. Marys in a girls basketball game, but the experience and depth of the Blue Devils was to much to overcome as the Blue Devils pulled away in the second half to get the win.
The Knights Regan Smith kept the Knights in the game in the first half with six of her nine points while Caleigh Phillips and Kelsey Vandruff each hit for six in the contest. Lauren Templeton knocked in five markers while Allie and Summer Miller each hit four points with two baskets each.
The Knights hit 15 field goals on the night and went 6-12 from the free throw line. St. Marys conected on 16 field goals with five 3-pointers and went to the free throw line 31 times making 17.
Top Scorer for the game was St. Marys’ Kylie Wright with 16, while Joesy Moore hit for 11 points and Zoe Davis added 10. Lara Fetty dropped in nine and Olivia DeWeese hit a 3-pointer.
The Blue Devils also woin the JV game with a tight 20-19 win.
