TYLER CONSOLIDATED’S GAGE HUFFMAN

The Tyler Star News Athlete of the week for December 31, is Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights Basketball player Gage Huffman. In three games played last week Huffman demonstrated his basketball skills by hitting for double figures in all three contests.

On Monday, in Pine Grove he showed up big time leading the Knights to a 24 point win over the Lumberjacks. Huffman scored 26 points on a combination of drives to the basket, jump shots and a couple three pointers. He also added five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot. His night also included two 3-pointers and 6-9 from the free throw line.

Huffman is a physical player and a tough match up for most teams. He has vastly improved his game from last season and is one of the better defensive players in the area. He has good speed, physicality and is a team player. Gage is three sport star at Tyler and following basketball season, he will hit the baseball diamond for his fourth straight year. Keep watch he is sure to have some big scoring nights as the season goes forward. Congratulations to Gage Huffman.
