Ritchie County Nips Tyler, 48-42
Visiting Ritchie County jumped out to a 12 point half time lead, but the Knights battled back in the second half to make a game of it before falling by four points. The Silver Knights outscored the Rebels 11-10 in the third and then put up 19 in the fourth to the Rebels 14 to close the gap and put a scare in the 1-1 visitors. The Knights fell to 0-2 with the loss.
Sophomore Caleigh Phillips ended as the games leading scorer as she knocked in two three pointers to finish with 20 points, while going 4-6 from the free throw line. She also added six steals and three assists plus nine rebounds. Allie Miller with seven points and Lauren Templeton with six provided support. Regan Smith grabbed 10 rebounds and finished with four points. Landry Buchanan hit for two buckets and four points whilwe Summer Miller chipped in a free throw to end the scoring. Ritchie County was led by Ashley Davis who hit three 3-pointers on her way to 14 points on the night. She was supported by Olivia Cress with 11
