Hawks Handle ’Cats
Paden City hosted South Harrison on Wednesday, December 11,in girls high school basketball action as they were looking for their second win of the young season, but the visiting Hawks proved to be more than they could handle as they handed the Cats their third loss of the season 43-28.
The Wildcats fell behind 12-8 after one quarter and never recovered against the 1-3 Hawks. The Cats battled tough and were still only down eight at the half, but South Harrison still managed to get the 15 point win outscoring the Cats by three in the second half. Paden City was led by Freshman Tanley McEldowney who tossed in eight points while getting two steals and eight rebounds.
Senior four year player Abbe Stackpole hit for seven markers and added three steal and four assists. McKenzie Thomas scored five points including one basket from long range and Raven Fulks added four points on two buckets. Brooke and Brianna Hoskins each added a basket for the Cats.
