Wildcats Capture Mason-Dixon Championship

Paden City Voleyball Coach Jennifer Yeater stepped into a successful program two years ago and has stayed on track keeping the Wildcats at the top of the OVAC and Mason Dixon Conferences. The players changed but the results didn’t.
After winning the OVAC a couple weeks back for the third straight year the Cats kept winning and improved to 29-4 on the season Thursday, by knocking off Clay-Battelle in the semi-finals and Clarksburg Notre Dame in the finals to capture it’s third Mason Dixon Championship in a row.
On Thursday, October 31, the Wildcats hosted the tourmnament and quickly displayed thier superiority by eliminating Clay-Battelle 25-8 and 25-5 in a blow out that set up the championship match with Notre Dame. Paden City kept up the pressure of hard and accurate serving while controlling the net play to make easy work of the Fighting Irish 25-9 and 25-15.
In the Chamionship match Mallory Yeater and Hope Weber controlled the tempo early allowing 10 players to get in the stat sheet. Yeater finished with nine kills, nine digs, eight assists, and five points, while Weber came in with 13 points to lead all scorers and eight kills, plus eight assists.
McKenzie Thomas scored 11 points, including 4 aces, and 4 digs. Madi Kline added 6 points, 2 aces, 3 kills, and 4 digs, while Cora Anderdon got 2 points, an ace, and a kill. Brandis Dalrymple 2 kills, 1 block,

Maggi Still 1 kill, 1 block, 1 assist and 3 digs, Hallie McDonald 1 kill, 2 assists, Loren Little 1 point, Kelsi Michael 5 assists, and Tanley McEldowney 6 digs rounded out the stats for Yeater’s club.
To set up the Championship match the Cats took care of Clay Battelle easily as with Yeater scored 5 points, 1 ace, 9 kills, 1 block, 8 assists, 9 digs, Hope Weber added13 points, 2 aces, 8 kills, 2 blocks, 8 assists, 2 digs and Cora Anderson got 4 points,1 assist, 7 digs. Paden City used 12 players in the match with everyone chipping in to lift the Cats to the championship match.
Madi Kline scored 3 points, and had 2 blocks, 1 assist, 2 digs, Loren Little added 3 points, 1 ace, and 4 digs. Tanley McEldowney chipped in with 6 digs, Brandis Dalrymple got 2 blocks, Maggi Still 1 block, and 2 digs and Alyssa Phillips 3 points, 4 digs. McKenzie Thomas with1 point, 3 digs, Hallie McDonald 2 kills, Isabella Beverlin 2 points, and Kelsi Michael 1 assist ended the stats for the Cats.
