Lady Wildcats Keep Rolling Along

The Wildcats got a big effort from senior Cora Anderson on Thursday, September 26 in Cameron as the Wildcats took their show on the road and came away with a three set victory to up their record to 17-3 while prepping for the upcoming OVAC tournament.
Anderson had her serve working as she collected 21 points , including 7-Aces. She also added 3-kills and 6-digs for an all-around perormance to lead the Cats. Hope Weber continued to dominate on the offensive side of the net as she pounded down 18 kills on the night while getting 5-assists, 3digs, 2-points and an Ace. Her junior counterpart Nallory Yeater gave her usual performance with 10 points, 2-Aces, 7-kills, 24 assists and 3-digs.
Hallie McDonald served up 5 points, and added 3 kills, 2 assists, 2 digs, Maggi Still and Tanley NcEldowney each got 9-digs, while Madi Kline had 3 points, 1 ace, 3 kills, 1 dig. Isabella Beverlin 4 points, 2 digs, Brandis Dalrymple 4 kills, McKenzie Thomas 6 assists, and Loren Little 2 digs rounded out the stat sheet.
Wildcats inprove to 16-3 with Tri-Match win at home
After getting off to a tough first set loss, the girls regrouped and came back and took care of the ball to grab the next two sets against Calhoun County in the first match of the night.
Set one saw the Cats standing around flat footed and not much movement and as a result they fell 15-25 to Calhoun. However the next two sets showed the real team as they came back and took both sets in Wildcat fashion. 25-13, and 25-15.
Yeater finished the match with 12 points, 4-kills, 14 assists, and 11 digs to lead the Cats, while Weber had 15-kills, 5-points, 3-blocks 8-digs and 2-assists. Anderson finished with 2-points, 3-kills, 5-digs, 1-assist and 1-block assist. Kline got 4-blocks and 2-block assists, 3-kills, 2-points, and 2-digs. Brandis Dalrymple ended with 4-blocks, 2-asist, 2-kills and 1-block assist. Hallie McDonald got 3-assists, 5-points, 1-kill and 1-block assist. Maggi Still added 9-digs.
Isabella Beverlin served well with 11 points, including an ace, while adding a dig. McKenzie Thomas got 4-assists and 3-digs. Tanley McEldowney had a match high 18 digs. Loren Little got 1 point.
Cats get win over Wheeling Central to move to 16-3 on the season
Paden City had little trouble with the Maroon Knights as they took set one 25-10, and followed it up with a second set 25-17 win to send the Knights packing. Weber was two powerful around the net for the visitors as she knocked down 18 kills during the match while adding 7-points, including 2-Aces, plus 3-digs and 2-blocks to finish her nights work. Yeater did her thing with 19 assists, 7-points, 6-digs and 1-kill. Anderson continued to serve well with 15 points, three of which were Aces. She also had 4-digs, 1-kill, and 1-assist.
The freshman setter Tanley McEldowney hit the hardwood for 13 digs in the match, while Kline added1 block assist, plus 1-block. Dalrymple got 3- kills, and 3-bocks. McDonald ended with 3-kills, 1-dig and 5-assists. Maggi Still had 4-digs. McKenzie Thomas 1-assist and 1-dig and Isabella Beverlin 4 points, 2 digs.
Weber gets 1,000th kill as Wildcats win Tri-Match
Paden City traveled to Clay Battelle on Tuesday, September 24, to take on the Cee Bees and Morgantown Trinity in high school volleyball. The Cats who are red hot and have lost only three matches all year were on their game again as they downed both teams in two sets to get the sweep and head home sporting a 14-3 season record. The Cats are setting in the top spot of the OVAC and the Mason Dixon Conference rankings while sporting two of the top players in the state in class A.
One of those players Mallory Yeater recently went over 1,000 career assist while on Tuesday Hope Weber went over 1,000 kills for her career. Both girls are only juniors. The Wildcats made easy work of the Cee Bees in their first match of the evening winning by scores of 25-12 and 25-7.
Yeater had a huge night at the service line as she ratteled the home teams defense with 32 service points, including 10 Aces. She also offered up 15 assists, added 4-kills and 2-digs. Weber went to work needing just 15 kills to reach her milestone and added 9 to her total while scoring 2-points and getting 2-assists.
Cora Anderson added 3-points, 4-kills, 1-assist and 2-digs. Brandis Dalrymple came through with 3-kills and a dig, Hallie McDonald had 1-kill, 1-assist and a dig. Madi Kline added 2-kills. Maggi Still got 2-digs, McKenzie Thomas got 3-assists and Tanley McEldowney added 4-digs.
In the Match with Trinity, Weber came on strong to get her 1,000 kill as she hammered down 16 monster shots to lead the Wildcats to the win 25-7 and 25-11. Weber added 2-assists and a digs for her nights work. Mallory Yeater had another strong serving performance with 17 points, 2 aces, 6 kills, 15 assists and 3 digs. Isabella Beverlin 10 points, 4 aces, 3 digs, Hallie McDonald 1 point, 4 kills, 4 assists and 1 dig, McKenzie Thomas 6 assists and 1 dig, Madi Kline 2 points, 1 ace, 3 kills, 1 block and 1 dig, Cora Anderson 1 point, 1 assist and 2 digs, Brandis Dalrymple 1 dig, Maggi Still 1 point, 1 assist and 2 digs, Loren Little 1 point, Tanley McEldowney 1 dig and McKenzie Lewis 1 dig all added to the Wildcat win.

Visiting Paden City held on in set one for a 25-23 win on Monday, September 23, and then cruised to a three set win to take the match and improve to 12-3 on the season. The Cats duo of Hope Weber and Mallory Yeater were huge as they teamed up to lead the visitors to the victory.
Weber was huge around the net in the win as she hammered down a monster 23 kills while adding 9-digs, 3-points and 3-assists, while Yeater was just as effective with 24 assists, 10 points, 6-kills and 8 digs. However they weren’t alone as senior Cora Anderson scored 11 points from the service line while adding 11 digs and 5-kills. Freshman Tanley McEldowney was all over the back row to come up with a game high 18 digs.
Madison Kline finished with 7-points including 3-Aces, Brandis Dalrymple knocked down 6-kills, Maggie Still added 12 digs, Isabella Beverlin came through with 7-points and and Ace, Hallie NcDonald scored 5-points, and added 3-kills, 1-assist and 1-kill. McKenzie Thomas got 5-assists and 2-digs.
River was led by Allison Bennett with 3-points on 3-Aces, 22 assists, 8-digs, and 7-points. Katie Straub with 11 kils, 8-digs and 4-points. Lacey Cordery came through with 3-kills and 16 digs, Lindsay Huffman got 3-digs and 8-points, Myla Ivey added 6-kills and 4-digs, Emily Taylor had 5-digs, Katie Rufener got 3-points.
Paden City JV defeated River in 3 sets 23-25, 25-19 and 25-17.
