Paden City Picks up Two Wins in Tri-Match with South Harrison and Clay Battelle

  • The Cats hosted South Harrison high school and Clay Battelle high school on Thursday night in a Tri-Match which moved the home team to 6-0 on the season.

Paden City was in control from start to finish in both matches defeating South Harrison 25-8, in set one and 25-16 in set two.

Hope Weber had a big night in set one with 3 points, includings 2 aces, 15 kills, 3 digs.

Tanley McEldowney scored 9 points, 1 ace, 10 digs and Mallory Yeater continued her fine play with 4 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 12 assists and 9 digs.

Cora Anderson added 5 points, 3 aces, 1 kill, 1 block, 7 digs and Hallie McDonald scored 5 service points, 1 block assist, 2 assists and 7 digs. Madi Kline 3 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 block, 1 block assist, Madi Kline had 3 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 1 block, 1 block assist, and Brandis Dalrymple 3 kills, 1 block. Maggi Still came in 6 digs.

  • Paden City defeated Clay Batelle 25-9 and 25-7 with Weber again leading the way with as she controlled the play atound the net getting 5 points, 4 kills, 9 assists, 1 block assist and 4 digs. McEldowney was big in the digging department with 18 while also gewtting 4 points, 2 aces.. and a kill. Yeater also continued to shine with 5 points, 4 kills, 9 assists, 1 block assist and 4 digs. McDonald led the team in service points with 8 while adding 3 kills, and 4 digs. Anderson had 5 points, 1 ace, 1 kill, 2 digs. Kline contributed 4 points, 1 kill, 1 block, and 1 block assist. Rounding out the stats were Still with 4 assists, 2 digs. Dalrymple 2 kills. McKenzie Thomas 3 points and McKenzie Lewis 1 dig

Wildcats move to 4-0 with Five Set win over Beallsville

  • Paden City made things look easy in the first two sets against Beallsville, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 11, at Paden City winning set one 25-13, and set two 25-20, but the visiting Blue Devils came alive to win the next two sets 22-25 and 15-25, to set up set five.

Set one saw Hallie McDonald lead the way from the service line with 7-points, including 2-Aces and a couple digs. Tanley McEldowney served up 4-points, including an Ace and finished with a set high 12 digs from her libero position. Mallory Yeater had a good game with 3-points, 4-kills, 6-assists and 3-digs. Hope Weber knocked down 7-kills, had a point, one assist and 2-digs. Cora Anderson also came up big with 7-digs, 3-assists, 3-kills, 1-point, and 1-block, Brandis Dalrymple added 1-kill and 1-dig, while Madi Kline got a kill. Maggi Still added 3-assists, and 1 dig.

Set Two had Weber with 7-kills, 2-digs, and a point. Yeater came up with 5-assists, 4-points, including 3-Aces, 2-kills, and 2-digs. Anderson had 5-points, an ace, 1-assist, and 5-digs. Madi Kline added a block and an assists, McDonald got 2-assists, Still had 2-assists and a dig and McEldowney served up 5-points including 4-Aces.

The Third set saw Beallsville turn things around as they uphended the Cat 22-25. Yeater added to her assists total in the set with 9-assists, 3-kills, 2-ponts and 2-digs. Weber knocked down 4-kills, served 2-points, including an ace, had an assist and 2-digs, Kline got 3-points, an ace, and a kill, Anderson had 1-point, 1-block assist, and 1-dig. McDonald got 2-kills, 1- assist, and 1-dig. Dalrymple added 4-kills, Still got 2-assists and 2-digs and McEldowney scored 5-points with an ace and had 4-digs.

Set Four was all Beallsville as they got a 10 point win 15-25. For the Wildcats Yeater picked up 3-assists and 3-kills. Weber offered a point, 2-kills, 2-assists, and 2-digs. Kline had 2-points and 3-digs, Anderson 2-points, 1-assist and 2-digs. McDonald got 2-digs, Dalrymple added 2-kills, Still got 1-dig, McKenzie Thomas got 2-digs, and McEldowney had 1-assist and 5-digs.

Set Five brought out the best in Paden City as they dug deep and came away with the win 15-1. Weber, Yeater and Anderson took control with Yeater getting 7-points, including 2-Aces, six assists, and a dig. Anderson also scored 7-points, including 2-Aces and had a dig. Weber played tough at the net with 7-kills and a block assist and added a dig. McElDowney got 2-digs, Dalrymple got 1 kill, and 1 block assist, while McDonald got a dig.

Junior Mallory Yeater gave the Veterans and First Responders something to cheer about as she offered up her 1,000th caeer assist during the match. With just a few games into her third season she has a long way to go yet and good become one of Paden City’s all-time assist leaders. This is a good team who is improving as they move through the season. With Weber controlling the net and Yeater setting, plus superb serving and digging from the entire team they will be a force to reckon with all season. Congratulations goes out to Yeater for her achievement in the Beallsville game.
