• The Tyler Star News Athletes of the Week for September 18, 2019 is Paden City senior quarterback Ethan Cross. During Friday nights football game at Van High School, Cross threw two touchdown passes, ran for another and played an overall excellent game. He recorded five solo tackles while also blocking a field goal attempt by the Bulldogs. On the night he was 10-16 passing for 166 yards and carried the ball 15 times for 60 yards.

• Special Honorable mention this week goes to Paden City freshman wide receiver Zane Yeater who grabbed three passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns in the loss to Van. Yeater had a 78 yard catch and run score and a 12 yard reception.

• Honorable Mention: Clayton Thomas had 15 tackles, a sack, a tackle for a loss, and a fumble recovery to make the honorable mention list.

Paden City’s Mallory Yeater, recorded her 1,000 career assist during the week to make the honorable mention list and Tyler Consolidated’s Regan Smith served up 42 points, including 8-Aces in a volleyball win over St. Marys to earn her honor.
