Mallory Westbrook clears the ball away from the North Marion defenders on Saturday.

The Lady Knights Soccer team played a tough game against North Marion on Saturday afternoon. The game started of with the ball staying in midfield with defensive efforts on both sides of the ball. Then 20 minutes into the first period, North Marion drilled a shot that was more than Goalie Briann Templeton could handle putting the Huskies on the board. The huskies were able to reach the back of the net 3 more times before the half, the last score coming with a crushing 1.7 seconds left in the period.

The second period showed where the Knights were wearing down in the heat as the huskies were able to put up three quick goals making the score 7-0. Lady Knights started to bear down and Shiann Jones was able to sneak a goal in to give Tyler a ray of hope. The Knights held steady with good defense, Templeton made some good blocks, but again the Huskies were able to score making it 8-1 in favor of the Huskies. North Marion was able to find the goal two more times for a final score of 10-1.

The Knights team showed great hustle and played a very physical game but, in the end, there were just too many shots on goal to be blocked.

The Lady Knights will face Williamstown at home on Thursday,

Sept. 19.
