Spotlight: TC’s Victoria Hood

Tyler Consolidated junior Victoria Hood is in the Sports Spotlight this week.
The Tyler Star News spotlight athlete of the week is TCHS Junior Victoria Hood. She is a member of the Lady Knights volleyball team who will be looked to step up and fill the void of six very talented teammates that had graduated.
“Victoria played great last Saturday in our tournament, and I’m extremely happy for her as she has probably worked harder than anyone in the off season in the weight room or working out,” said TCHS Volleyball Head Coach Richard Summers. “She will be a second year starter and we are hoping for a big year from her.”
Besides volleyball, Hood also participates in track and the National Honor Society in art. She has been selected to Arts Alive in Charleston for the past three years. “I’m so excited to see whats in store for me my last two years, and will be working harder every day to achieve my goals.” She believes that the season will be challenging, but will continue to put in the work and continue to do so. “It will never get easier, but we will be better,” said Victoria.
During her freshman year, Hood was a right hitter and moved to right and a middle-hitter. She also has played club ball for the past several years, which will help her and the team this coming Fall volleyball season.
