St. Marys Top PC in Sectional Play

Neveah Sweeney steadies herself at the plate, looking to collect a hit.

The Wildcats fell 15-0 in five innings to St. Marys to eliminate the Wildcats from sectional play and end their season on Thursday, May 3, on the Blue Devils field. The Wildcats Erin McIntyre worked from the mound for Paden City and suffered the loss giving up 14 hits and walking three.

The Wildcats got four hits on the night but couldn’t capitalize and never crossed the plate.

McIntyr, Ashlyn Moses, Madison Kline and Madison Knight all singled for the Cat’s. Paden City finished their season with an 9-14 record and only lose two seniors to graduation.

“We will miss the two seniors next year but we are hoping to improve over the summer and become a better team next year. All the girls worked hard and played the best they could, they had great attitudes and litened well to what Coach Raper and I told them. St. Mary has a nice team, we just did the best we could against them and we wish them lick the rest of the way, ” said Paden City first year coach Josh Fulks.

The Blue Devils scored eight runs in the first to take the air out of the Cat’s and added five more in a big third inning run.

They never made an error while Paden City was credited with five miscues.
