Silver Knights’ Barker Shines on Senior Night

Tyler Consolidated’s Nathan Barker came up big on senior night during a Wetzel-Tyler Track League meet, capturing the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 15.70, a personal best.

The Tyler Star News Athlete of the week for MAY 1, 2019, is Silver Knight Senior Nathan Barker.

On Tuesday Night At the WTTL meet, Barker came up big in front of a senior night crowd with a personal best time in of 15.70 the 110-meter hurdles to win the event.

Barker had set a goal at the beginning of the season of running a sub 16.00 race and on Tuesday he met his goal with room to spare. Nate not only runs the 100 meter hurdles but he is on the shuttle team who is a state contender and runs in other relays.

Earlier this year he signed a letter of intent to run track following high school for the West Liberty University track team.

Barker now has his eye on the upcoming regional meet with a goal of bring home some gold at the State Track meet in Charleston, the weekend of May 17-18.
