Paden City Boys Finish Third at Mason-Dixon

The Paden City Boys Track team recently finished third in the Mason-Dixon Championship. Freshman Tobin McEldowney got eight points for the Wildcats with fourth-place finishes in the 200-meter and 400-meter with times of 25.34 and 57.71. McEldowney also got eight points in the high jump with a second place 5-04.00. Shane Anderson came in fifth with a jump of 5-04.00 for two points. Freshman Parker Higgons picked up two points in the long jump with a 16-11.00, and freshman Brandon Hizer added a point to the ‘Cats total with sixth place in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:30.33.

Jason Anderson won the discus for 10 Wildcat points with a throw of 101-10; he finished second in the shot put with a toss of 38-10.00, good for eight more points. EJ Weber got four points in the discus with a fourth- place throw of 94-07 and added one point with a sixth-place shot put toss of 36-04.50.

The Wildcats 4×100-meter relay team grabbed two points with a team of J. Anderson, Isaac Neff, Gavin Lewis, and EJ Weber in a time of 59.03. Their 4×200-meter relay team came in third with a 1:44.27 with a team of Higgons, S. Anderson, Alex McCoy, and McEldowney – good for six points. The ‘Cats 4×400-meter team of Higgons, Hizer, Jasup Spragg, and Nick Clark, ran a fifth-place time of 4:21.59. The 4×110 shuttle hurdle team of McCoy, Higgons, Spragg, and Kyler Wade added four points to the Wildcat total with a time of 1:12.39.

The Paden City Girls got fifth place in the Mason-Dixon Championship track meet with 57 points. Abbe Stackpole led the way for the Wildcats with a first-place finish in the 100-meter with a time of 13.30 for 10 points. She added eight more points in the 200-meter dash with a second place finish of 28.34. Junior Cora Anderson topped the field in the 400-meter dash with a winning time of 1:08.10 for 10 points. Hallie McDonald picked up four Wildcat points with a fourth-place finish in 17.90. Hope Weber gave the Wildcats six total points with a third place discus throw of 84-04 and a sixth place shot put toss of 28-01.00.

The Wildcat 4×100-meter relay team of McDonald, Mallory Yeater, Anderson, and Stackpole finished first with a 53.19 for 10 points. The ‘Cats 4×400-meter relay team took second place for eight points with a time of 4:50.44.

The team was made up of McDonald, Brandis Dalrymple, Anderson, and Yeater.
