Tyler Girls Fall To Williamstown, 81-47

Tyler Consolidated girls fell to 5-2 on Monday night, Dec. 17, in Williamstown as the Yellowjackets (5-1) gained a convincing 81-47 victory. The home team won every quarter to get the win after leading 44-30 at the halftime break. The second half didn’t get much better for the Silver Knights as Williamstown outscored the Knights by 20 to win going away.

The Silver Knights had two players hit in double figures with senior ace Josey Jones leading the way with 15 on five baskets and 5-6 from the free throw line. Senior guard Peyton Kocher hit four field goals, including two 3-pointers; she was 2-2 from the charity stripe, ending with 12 points.

JoLee Walton managed eight points on three field goals and 2-2 from the line, while Caleigh Phillips knocked in two baskets for four points. Miranda Weekley and Summer Miller each got two points on baskets, and Regan Smith added two points on a bucket.. Tyler converted 9-12 overall from the free throw line.

Williamstown had three players in double figures led by Jenna Pridemore, who hit 17 for game-scoring honors. She was backed by Mara Rinehart with 13 and Bethany Arnold with 12. The Yellowjackets only hit 4-11 from the line but knocked in 36 field goals, compared to the Silver Knights 18
