TCMS to Play for LKC Championship

By Staff | Oct 24, 2018

The 8-2 Tyler Consolidated Middle School Football Team, led by Coach Tommy Phillips, will host the Little Kanawha Conference’s middle school football championship game on Thursday, Oct. 25, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Silver Knights’ field.

The Knights will battle it out with Doddridge County, a team which defeated the Knights early in the year for one of TCMS’ two losses. Coach Phillips expects this to be a good game and would like to see the stands full. He said the first game was a tough match-up, and the Knights had chances to get the win but failed. He expects the Oct. 25 game to be more of the same with the Knights putting it all on the line.

“We played them tough the first time, and I think we actually should have won that game. We made a few mistakes, but Doddridge is a nice team, and for us to win, we will have to play a near-perfect game and eliminate the missed opportunities, ” Coach Phillips said.

There are two big games this week for Tyler Consolidated with the TCMS team’s game on Thursday night and the TCHS team, which is still in the play-off hunt, hosting Valley on Friday night. Time is here to come out and support the future and current Silver Knights’ football programs.
