Paden City Puts it to Valley, 21-1

Paden City got the bats going early and often at Pine Grove on Monday, March 26, as they rolled to a 22-1 five inning win over the Lumberjacks. The Wildcats lit the board up for seven runs in the first inning and never looked back in a mercy-rule shortened game.

The Wildcats added four runs in the second and two in the third before Valley added a run in the bottom of the inning. The Paden City boys came back with one in the fourth and closed things out with a huge eight run during the fifth inning. David Joy used three singles to knock in six runs, and Ethan Cross went deep for a grand slam and added a double and a single for five RBIs.

Ryan Cross hit two over the fence and doubled for four RBIs, while Kolton Elliott hit one out of the park and added a single for two RBIs. Clayton Thomas doubled and singled for two runs batted in, and Trey Slider doubled and singled for an RBI. Matt Saxon doubled and had two singles for an RBI.

Elliott got the win for the Wildcats, giving up only four hits in five innings, while striking out four and walking only one. Paden City had two errors while Valley had three. Ethan Greathouse took the loss for Valley. Paden City is now 2-4 on the season.
