The Silver Knights used a five run second inning to take the lead over Valley on Saturday; then, they never looked back as they gained a 12-2 win to even their record to 1-1. Dylan Roberts picked up the win for the Knights, striking out five batters and walking one in two innings. Tyler West came on in relief and worked the final five innings to get the save.

The Knights outhit Valley 9-2 with Roberts adding to his cause with two doubles and an RBI. West also doubled and got an RBI while Kyle Mason and Justin Bowman each added a single and an RBI.


Silver Knights Fall In Opener

Tyler Consolidated took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but visiting Parkersburg Catholic scored three runs in the top of the third on their way to a 9-6 win over the Silver Knights.

Tyler scored in the bottom of the third and rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to make it close, but it wasn’t enough as the Crusaders added six runs in their last three at bat. Luke Daugherty, who started out 9-0 last season, took the loss – giving up nine hits including two long balls.

The Knights ended with six hits, including a long double by Kyle Mason that nearly cleared the center field fence, and a home run by Tyler West in the seventh for an RBI. Daugherty fanned six batters on the night while giving up three walks over five innings.
