Lady Cats Pick Up Second Win in Hundred
With only one win under their belt, and four losses, Paden City headed to Hundred on Monday night, Dec. 18, for a chance to get win two over the Hundred Hornets.
The Wildcats opened the season back on November 28, at home with a win over the Hornets and on Monday they got win two with a 57-14 victory to improve to 2-4 on the season.
The Wildcats, who have been on a four game losing streak, got back on track Monday as they jumped out to a 16-2 first quarter lead and by halftime were up 29-7.
Paden City Junior Hannah Loy came up big for the Cats as she pumped in 18 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to go along with six steals.
Sophomore guard Abbe Stackpole knocked in 12 points, and Skylar Fulks added 12 to give the Wildcats three double-digit scorers. Also denting the scoreboard for the Cats were Paige Leanord with six points; freshman Erin McIntyre hit for five, and Raven Fulks scored two.
The Cats finished the game hitting 9-18 foul attempts, had 31 rebounds, 12 steals and 13 assists. Mahala Britton led Hundred with six points.
“We played well tonight. I am happy the girls got another win, but we have to step it up a notch as there are several tough games right ahead of us. The kids continue to work hard in practice, and they are improving; however we are young and the inexperience shows. We still feel we can win some games as the season goes on. Our rebounding and ball handling are both getting better,” said coach Allen Miller.
