Five Touchdowns Earn Knight’s Rucker Honor
The Tyler Star News athlete of the week for November 1, 2017 is sophomore Tyler Consolidated football player Mark Ruck. On Friday night in a big battle against the Valley Lumberjacks, Rucker stood out head over heals against the home team as he scored five touchdowns, three rushing, one on a pass reception and another on a 65 yard kickoff return
The do-it-all speedster was just to much for the Lumberjacks to handle as he accounted for 169 yards on just nine carries for an average of 18.7 yards a touch. His 48 yards on four receptions was good for a T.D and an average of 12 yards per reception. He also had 149 return yards and five tackles plus a fumble recovery. Congratulations to Mark on a job well done.
Earning Special honorable mention this week is Knights Quarterback Griffin Phillips and Riley Leasure who accounted for 10 tackles on the night. Also Ryan Cross from Paden City who scored three touchdowns in the loss to Beallsville.
