Wildcats Pick Up Win Against Hannan
Paden City made the long trip to Hannan pay off on Friday, as they left town around noon for the 6:30 p.m. contest. With beautiful weather and a healthy squad the Cat’s took advantage and secured their second win on the saeason against five defeats.
Back in action after a week off Senior Rander Amos made the home team pay as he scored twice and had 80 yards rushing on just 10 totes. His runs of 25 yards in the third quarterand two yards early in the fourth sealed the deal for Paden City and made for a better four hour ride home.
The Wildcats started the scoring in the first quarter when quarterback Mike Shreves ran one in from five yards out with 3:58 left on the clock for a 6-0 lead. The point after failed. The game stayed at 6-0 until Ryan Cross punched one in from a yard out right before the half to make it 12-0 at the break.
Amos provided the rest of the nights fireworks as the Cat held Hannan to only six first downs on the night while gathering 17 of their own to control the clock. Shreves had a big night passing as he was 8-12 throught the air for 119 yards. Rushing Paden City led the way with 209 on 41 carries and four scores. Both teams fumbled twice with the Cat’s losing one. Hannan received 12 penalties for 93 yards and Paden City was penalized six times for 60. The Wildcats will return to action Friday night on the road against Van in a 7 p.m. contest.
