Tyler Consolidated got two big wins on Thursday, as they traveled to Wildcat town for a Tri-Match with John Marshall and Paden City. Up first for the Knights was the Monarchs. The Knights got a good tune up for the Wildcats from the John Marshall team as they stretched the Knights to the limit in both sets. Set one was no gimme as the Knights had to scramble to the finish line to gain the 25-21 first set win.

Set two also was nip and tug but the Lady Knights proved to be superior with the 25-22 win. The Knights were led in the match by their junior laden squad of Josey Jones with four kills, seven digs, and two points, JoLee Walton, 21 assists, two kills, three digs, eight points and three aces. In the first set Tyler and Paden City played tug of war with neither team able to get a strong hold. In the end however the visitors won out with a 25-23 triumph. Set two was more the same and the Wildcats got the win in overtime 26-24 forcing the Lady Knights to play set three.

Paden City took an early lead 5-4 but lost a point on a service error and the score stood at 5-5. However there was a rotation problem and after nearly 30 minutes play resumed with the score 6-6 and Tyler serving. The Knight s stretched the lead to 18-14 but the Cats battled back to take a 22-20 lead before the Silver Knights got a point on a volley and from there ran the table for a 25-22 win to taske the match.
