Silver Knights Defeat Ravenswood

Tyler Consolidated improved to 12-9 on Thursday, with a four set win over Ravenswood, 25-12, 25-18, 17-25 and 25-23. The Knights used 22 big kills by Alexa Johnson to control the net play, while JoLee Walton filled the stat book with 81 sets, 30 assists, three kills, two blocks, eight digs, seven points and two aces. Adding to the Knights victory was Josey Jones with nine kills, 12 digs and three points and Emily Lancaster chipped in with four kills, three blocks and two digs.

Junior Peyton Kocher ended with 14 digs, six points, including two aces. Cora Grimm had 17 digs and a point while freshman Regan Smith got two kills, two blocks, five points and an ace. Allie Miller added five digs and three points, Madison DeVaughn four points and Victoria Hood three blocks and two digs.

The Knights JV team also won with a two set 25-14 and 25-10 victory. Leading scorers for the Knights were Summer Miller with seven, DeVaughn seven, Sadie Nichols six, Eden Turner four, Jonaya Staley three and Lindsay Thompson two.

Wirt County gets win over Silver Knights

Tyler Consolidated hosted the Tigers of Wirt County, on Tuesday night in a battle of Class A powerhouses. The first set belonged to the Knights as they got an easy 25-16 win, however the Tigers came right back and captured the next two sets by 25-30 and 35-20.

The Silver Knights fought back in the fourth set to even things up at two each with a 25-17 victory, to send the match to the deciding set five where Wirt County took command and won the match 15-7.

For the Knights, JoLee Walton came up big with 30 assists, seven blocks, four kills, five digs, and nine points including an ace. Josey Jones had 16 digs, 12 kills, six blocks and four points.

Peyton Kocher led the Knights in scoring with 13 points, including 4 aces and six digs, while Alexa Johnson added 13 kills, three blocks and two digs. Emily Lancaster, had a good net game with nine kills and five blocks, plus two digs and Freshman Regan Smth, got six kills, two blocks, two digs, three points and an ace.

Cora Grimm, played well with seven points, three aces and 16 digs. Madison DeVaughn, scored seven points with two aces and four digs while Allie Miller,got four points and 10 digs. The Silver Knights fell to 11-9 with the loss.

The JV team won two straight sets over the Tigers 25-17 and 25-9 behind 15 points from Sadie Nichols, six from DeVaughn and four from Jonaya Staley.
