Summer Basketball League Play Continues

Sistersville Summer Basketball League play is in its third week and the action is hot and heavy.

If anyone watched Friday night’s Cleveland-Golden State game, you can see more of that kind of competition down on the Sistersville courts on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Games start at 6:30 p.m. and finish up aroungd 10:30.

There are eight teams making up the league with four games each night. Thursday nights winners were team Orange, team Black, team Yellow and the High School varsity. As of this writing, the Black team and the Yellow team were tied for first place both with 4-0 records. The Orange team was holding down second place with a 3-1 record while there was a tie for third with team Green and the Varsity both standing at 2-2. The White team is in fourth with a 1-3 record and tied for fifth is team Blue and the High School JV AT 0-4.

Leading the league in scoring is Zach Heasley of team Orange with 98 points, Spencer Campell of team White has hit for 93, Zach Yeater of team Blue with 75 points and Griffin Phillips of the Varsity squad with 70. Kennedy Cain is leading the Yellow team with 68 points while Justin Cooper has 62 for team Green. Team Black has three players with 59 points, Cole Kocher, Tim Edwards and Dylan Romine. Leading the JV team is Levi Smith with 34.
