TC Boys Track Team Delivers

Fourteen teams took to the track on Friday, in a cool blowing rainy afternoon for the Tyler Consolidated Invitational.

The Silver Knights who have proven to be a force this season did not disapoint as they captured fourth place among some of the better schools in the area. Scoring 82 points and placing first in several events the Knights used the speed of senior Trent Shepherd to win the 100 meter dash in 23.57 to garner 10 points and tack on four more as freshman Mark Rucker grabbed a fifith place finish with a 12.46 to up their total to 14 after one event.

The senior duo of Shepherd 23.57) and Tyler Anderson (24.29) followed the 100 meter win with a first and second place finish in the 200 to add 18 points to the Knights score.Paden City Senior Jacob Pierce claimed the sixth place giving the Wildcats three points with a time of 26.69.

The Silver Knights Gavin Corley earned a point in the 800 for the Knights with a time of 2:18.62 for a sixth place finish. Corley than ran a very good race in the 1600 meter run to finish fourth in a time of 5:01.67 and gain five points for the Knights. Josh Frum got the Knights three points tacked on as he ran the 3200 in a time of 11:18.49 for a sixth place finish.

In the boys 110 meter hurdles Jarrett Lemasters ran an 18.37, good for three Knights points and a sixth place finish. The 300 meter race added another point for Tyler as Nathan Barker grabbed the eighth place spot in a time of 49.04.

Adding to the Silver Knights total was the 4×100 meter relay with Lemasters, Shepherd, Rucker and Anderson blistering the field with a 46.67 to grab first place and 10 points. Paden City finished in the eighth spot for a point with a team of Cade Myers, Seth Bohrer, Landon Smith and Wesley Smith with a 51.81 time.

The Silver Knights 4×200 relay team finished second to Oak Glen with a 1:38.90 adding eight points with a team of Rucker, Shepherd, Cameron Ramsey and Anderson. The Paden City Wildcats finished seventh with a 1:47.40 to get two more Wildcat points.

Tyler Consolidated finished eighth in the 4×400 with a time of 4:14.61 to gain a point for the Knights. The team was made up of Brandon Bonar, Nick Gorby, Zach Placer and Corley. They also finished seventh in the 4×800 to add two points to the Knights total.

The 4×100 meter shuttle hurdle race had Paden City finihing third with a 1:07.78 for six points. The team members were Myers, Pierce, L. Smith and W. Smith. In the Boys high jump Knights freshman Rucker placed third with six points in a jump of 5-04.00. Anderson again won the long jump wih a leap of 20-00.00 for 10 Knights points.
