Silver Knights Let Lead Slip Away Against Wirt

Wirt County came back from a three point halftime deficit and outscored the Silver Knights 33-24 in the second half to win by six on Friday night on the Knights home floor.

Freshman Griffin Phillips led Tyler Consolidated with 11 points while Jace Reed finished with 10. The difference came from the three point line where Wirt hit six compared to two for the Silver Knights. Quentin Richmond six, Trent Smith six, Nate Lancaster five, Dylan Roberts three and Kyle Mason three, rounded out the scoring for the Silver Knights.

The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights boys basketball team hosted the St. Mary’s Blue Devils on Tuesday, Dec. 15. St. Mary’s proved to be to much for the Silver Knights as they came away with a 73-37 win, with the loss the Silver Knights fell to 1-3 on the season although they have hung tough in two defeats to Valley and Paden City.

Jace Reed led Tyler with 10 points on the night and Nathan Lancaster had a good night with eight points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Reed is averaging just under 20 points a game and the younger players are starting to step up their game.

The Knights made just five of 11 from the free throw line, while Reed and Dylan Roberts both knocked in a three ball.
