Lady Knights Beat Ravenwood, 47-40

The Lady Knights hosted Ravenswood on Thursday, and it was nip and tuck for three quarters. At the end of three, Ravenswood held a two-point edge but Tyler Consolidated rallied in the fourth and outscored them 20-11 to come away with a 47-40 win. Ravenswood fell to 2-4 on the season while the Silver Knights improved to 5-3.

Amanda Reynolds had 12 points to lead the Knights and Vanessa Templeton scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds for a double-double. Aleah Black tossed in seven points and had six blocks to aid the cause. Reynolds hit for a three ball and Tyler was able to overcome six treys by Ravenswood by hitting nine free throws to zero for Ravenswood.

Valley wins over Lady Knights

Ariel Fish scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds, while Aleah Black hit for 12 but it wasn’t enough as Valley got 27 points from Sophie Palmer to lead the LumberJills to the win on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Pine Grove. Valley also received nine points and 10 boards from Erin Brown and Madison Arnolds scored 11 points to go along with six rebounds.

The Silver Knights played even with the LumberJills most of the night, but were plagued by bad foul shooting, missing 21 free throws out of 35.

Lady Knights fall to St. Marys

Tyler Consolidated’s Lady Knights basketball team found the going a little tough on Friday night when St. Marys came to town.

The Lady Knights went right to work and jumped out to a 15-6 lead after one. The Blue Devils were not to be denied, however, and outscored the Lady Knghts 19-7 in the second period to take a three-point lead into the locker room.

St. Marys aggressive play and hot shooting continued in the third quarter. The second half proved fatal for Tyler as the Blue Devils outscored them, 40-20, to come away with a 64-42 win.

Amanda Reynolds and Ariel Fish paced the Lady Knights with 14 and eight points, respectively. Fish finished with 11 rebounds while Aleaha Black scored six and had four boards.

Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights win over Catholic

Coach Cathy Boggs charges entertained Parkersburg Catholic on Tuesday, Dec. 8, and came away with a 46-35 win over the down-river girls.

Amanda Reynolds and Vanessa Templeton led the charge with 16 and 10 points, respectively. Katelyn Gogan played a good floor game with nine boards, five points and four steals.

Catholic put up a good fight but the experience and team play of the Lady Knights proved to be too much.

The Knights have four starters back from last year and have been getting consistent play from their sophomores and freshmen. Nicole Lovejoy a sophomore and freshmen Josey Jones, JoLee Walton, Alexa Johnson and Peyton Kocher, to name a few, have been adding to the mix. Juniors Kara Dalrymple, Kylie Martin and Aleah Black are also adding depth to the squad.
