Silver Knights’ Perez Earns All-State Player of the Year

By Staff | Dec 2, 2015

At the beginning of the year, Tyler Consolidated soccer coach Scott Wall said Federico Perez was something special.

Perez confirmed that statement when the West Virginia Coaches Association recently named him as a first-team Class AA-A soccer player. Topping it off, he was named the Mid-Field Player of the Year and was invited to attend a banquet at West Virginia Wesleyan College to recieve his awards.

Perez played three years for the Silver Knights after moving to the USA from Colombia, South America.

Colombia is known for its soccer, and Perez started playing at and early age on a club ball team.

The skills he learned made him a favorite with local fans and has helped him draw interest from several colleges.

His plans are unknown at this time, but he wants to attend a university and, if given the opportunity, to compete at the next level.
