By Staff | Dec 2, 2015

Tyler Consolidated’s Girls Basketball team will kick off the season this Thursday Night against Williamstown on the road. The Lady Knights have 22 girls out this year with eight Freshmen, four sophomores, four juniors and six seniors.

The Knights have some height, speed and skill but lack experience.

Head Coach Cathy Boggs an ex Paden City player will no doubt have them ready. She said, they have been working hard in practice and are excited for the season to get under way. “They play a tough 22 game schedule but we will go out and compete each outing, this is a good group of girls and I think as the season goes on we will improve and be competitive.” We want to use our athletic ability to put the pressure on the opposition, we will take one game at a time at see where it takes us,” said Boggs.

Leading the team will be senior guard Katelyn Gogan, Vanessa Templeton, Ariel Fish, Martha Shepherd, Kara Dalrymple and Rhianna Long. Help can also come from Nicole Lovejoy, Joralda Rice, Amanda Reynolds, Bethany Littell, Kylie Martin, Aleah Black and Belle Pettus. Freshman JoLee Walton can also step in and provide some scoring and rebounding, another Freshman who could be a force around the boards is Alexa Johnson at 6’1″. The first home outing will be held on December 8, against Parkersburg Catholic, with JV action beginning at 6 p.m.
