Paden City’s Price to Step Up His Game

By Staff | Nov 25, 2015

Deven Price

Paden City’s Deven Price has paid the price, “no pun intended.” He has come in to his own and developed into an all-around athlete. Price’s speed is his main asset and when he turns on the jets, opposing teams take notice. He is a three-sport athlete who just finished his high school career as a four-year grid letterman.

Track has been his favorite sport where he has participated in the state state track meet four straight years.

Price said he is excited about the upcoming basketball season and hopes to be among the starting five. He has come off the bench the past few years, and when he hits the floor things usually happen. He is a defensive terror who can get from one end of the court to the other in a hurry.

“I am counting on him to make some great plays for us this year. His overall knowledge of the game has improved and his skill level has increased. He has the potential to cause a lot of turnovers and convert them into points for us,” remarked coach Fred King. “He’s the kind of player who can enter the game and cause havoc to the opposition.”

Price is a 5-9 guard who can also play the forward position. His hustle and attitude are two of his greatest assets. He has also developed a jump shot and is now an offensive threat.

“I want to be a part of something special in my senior year. I think basketball may be it. We all have worked hard in the off-season and are all ready gelling as a team. My goal is to have a winning season and make a run in the playoffs,” said Price. “Hopefully we can win our conferences as well.”
