Soccer Season to End at Home

The Silver Knights have been on the road for the majority of their games so far this season and now get to return to familiar surroundings as they take to the home field for the last seven games of the year. The Knights have had success so far have and with a break here or there could easily have been in the OVAC finals. Leading scorer Fede Perez went out of the match against Linsly after twisting his leg and the Cadets from Wheeling came out on top. If Perez can get back in the lineup the Silver Knights could run the table the rest of the way. Several players have stepped up their game over the course of the year with Josh Peck, Daron Weekley, Luke Daughtery, Trent Shepherd, Brandon Bonar, Levi Morgan, Adam Cooper Jarett Lemasters, Dan Miller and Sam Guild all contributing and getting it done.

They traveled to Oak Glen on Saturday, Aug. 22, the Knights beat Oak Glen 3-0, with Federico Perez having two goals, Josh Peck one goal, Nate Lantz one assist, and Luke Daugherty two saves.

On Monday, Aug. 24, Tyler Consolidated lost at Parkersburg South in a close game 2-1. Peck had one goal, Perez one assist and Daugherty 2 saves.

On Wednesday, Aug. 26, Tyler Consolidated had a big 9-3 win against Trinity with several of the Knights scoring in the game. Perez had three goals and three assists, Peck two goal, Dan Miller one goal, Adam Cooper one goal and 2 assists, Levi Morgan one goal, Brandon Bonar one goal and Daugherty three saves.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, at North Marion, the Knights won 6-1 with Perez having three goals, Jarett LeMasters one goal and one assist, Peck three assist, Trent Shepherd two goals and Daugherty two saves.

On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Knights lost to Weir with the score of 7-0. Daugherty had nine saves.

On Thursday, Sept. 3, the Knights played at Magnolia, where they won 1-0 with Perez having one goal, Cooper one assist and Daugherty six saves.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the Knights beat Wheeling Central 5-1 with Perez gaining two goals and two assists, Peck two goals, Aaron Warner 1 goal, LeMasters one assist, Shepherd one assist, and Daugherty four saves.

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Knights won against John Marshall with a score of 3-2. Daron Weekley had two goal, Perez one goal, Cooper one assist; Warner one assist, and Daugherty five saves.

On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Knights’ three game winning streak came to an end with a 3-2 loss to Ravenswood at home. LeMasters and Perez each had one goal, and Daugherty six saves.

On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Knights beat the St. Marys Blue Devils 9-0. Perez led the scoring with four goals, LeMasters two goals, Peck one goal, Shepherd one goal, and Cooper one goal. Credited assists for the Knights were Perez three, Sam Guild one, LeMasters one, Bonar one and Peck one. Daugherty had a shut out with 0 saves.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16, the Knights lost on the road to Linsly 6-1, with Shepherd scoring one goal, Perez one assist and Daugherty three saves.

On Wednesday, Sept. 23, Tyler Consolidated faced Linsly in the OVAC game. The Knights fell short, losing to Linsly 2-0. Daugherty had three saves in the game.

The Knights’ record is now 7-4 in non-conference games. They play at home this week against Monroe Central on Monday, Sept. 28 at 5pm, Parkersburg Catholic on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 5 p.m., and East Fairmont on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 12 p.m.
