TCHS Heats Up the Gym
The Silver Knights of Tyler Consolidated traveled to Steubenville on Wednesday Sept. 9, and came away with two big wins against Stuebenville and Wheeling Park, in a Tri-Match. In the match against the Big Reds it was Tyler 25-12 in the first set and 25-16 in the second. Macy Long had 36 sets and 14 assists along with 8 points on the night and JoLee Walton added 17 sets and 6 assists plus 3 digs to pace the lady Knights.
Abbie Fletcher had 11 kills and seven points while Joralda Rice Spiked down 10 kills. Ariel Fish helped the cause with five kills, six digs and five point.
In the second match against Wheeling Park, Ariel Fish led the way with six kills and 14 points. Macy Long and JoLee Walton both added seven assists to the cause, as the lady Knights from Tyler consolidated rolled over Park 25-22 and 25-23.
On Sept. 10, the Lady Knights hosted a Quad against Clay Battelle, Hundred and Valley and picked up three wins on the night. Against Clay Battelle, Abbie Fletcher had eight kills while Ariel Fish added 13 points and eight aces. Macy Long sent 11 kills over the net and finished with eight points while Madison West had 11 digs as Tyler Consolidated came out on top 25-18 and 25-14.
Next up was Hundred and the Lady Knight wasted no time in taking down the Hornets 25-1 and 25-14. Ariel Fish led the charge as she scored 13 points and had eight aces. Julianna Miller had eight kills and three digs while Courtney Hoder scored 12 points and Emily Lancaster had three kills, eight points and five aces.
The Lady Silver Knights then made short work of the Lady Jills from Valley with a 25-2 and 25-13 victory. Macy Long slammed down 13 kills on the night and added seven points while Hannah Casteel had a monster night with 20 points and four aces. Courtney Hoder finished with three digs, six points and two aces.
On September 14, the Lady Knights traveled to Hannibal to take on the River Pilots. The Lady Knights actually out scored the Lady Pilots in the match but came out a loser as they dropped three of the five sets. River won the first two 25-15 and 25-19 while the Lady Knights won the second two 16-25 and 14-25. River then won the final set 15-11 to come out on top.
Macy Long had 52 sets and 21 assists to go along with her five digs and 10 points on the night. JoLee Walton added 21 sets, seven assists and 10 points with two aces. Ariel Fish finished with nine kills while Abbie Fletcher put down eight kills and added a team high 13 points. Josey Jones knocked down eight kills, Joralda Rice nine kills and Madison West finished with eight digs and five points.
On Tuesday, September 15, the Tyler Consolidated team traveled to Ravenswood to play in a Quad against Parkersburg Catholic, Wirt County and Ravenswood. The Lady Knights dropped two on the evening but came away with a big win against Ravenswood to bring their record to 13-7 overall and 3-3 in LKC action.
Against Parkersburg Catholic Fish led the way with 11 kills and four points while Long had 22 sets and 10 assists. Madison West finished with 13 digs.
In the battle against always tough Wirt County the Lady Knights dropped two of three 25-14, 23-25 and 25-18. Fish led the way for the Knights with seven kills and nine blocks, Abbie Fletcher recored six kills and a team high 11 points. Long had 24 sets and eight assists along with two digs and four points. JoLee Walton added 18 sets and nine assists while scoring six points.
In their final match of the evening the Lady Knights dropped the girls from Ravenswood in straight sets 25-18 and 25-17. Fletcher paced the Knights with 15 points and Fish added 11. Joralda Rice recorded six blocks and West had seven digs and two points.
The Lady Knights will play at River on Thursday, September 24, in a Tri-Match with the Lady Pilots and Shenendoah.
