Paden City Lose Two Volleyball Matches

Aubrey Neff and Taylor Cosper teamed for 51 points, 16 digs and dished off 40 assists, but it wasn’t enough to get past Bishop Donahue and Weirton Madonna in three sets in McMechen Sept. 8.

In the match with Bishop Donahue, the ‘Cats took set one 20-25, but dropped set two 25-21 and then the tie breaker 27-25 in overtime.

Neff and Cosper teamed for 32 points, eight digs and 22 assists against the Lady Bishops, while Cydney Blatt tallied nine points and put away 16 kills to lead Paden City.

Dezirae Middleton followed with seven points, while Malayna Price, Katrina Heasley and Jenna Ferrebee each contributed five points. Abigail Still and Chelsea Baker each recorded three markers, Still added eight kills.

In the match with Madonna, the Blue Dons won set one 25-18, but the Wildcats fought back to win the second set, 15-25 before losing the tie-breaker 25-18.

Blatt paced the ‘Cats with a double-double 12 points and 13 kills, while Neff tacked on 12 points, five digs and passed out four assists to lead the way.

In addition, Price made 13 kills and pumped up six digs, while Cosper scored seven points, three digs and dished out 13 assists. Kallie Arnett added three kills, while Jenna Arnett served up six points. Middleton added five markers, while Still drilled five kills.
