Silver Knight’s head football coach Ryan Walton, say’s his line is going to be a major factor in the success this team has this season.

“These guy’s have been in the weight room all summer, their work ethic and dedication is unsurpassed, they want to control the line of scrimmage and open some big holes for our backs, these guy’s play on both sides of the ball and know the importance of conditioning,” said Walton.

Kordell Stewart, Austin Thompson, Dillon Glover, Kole Starkey and Devon Harris are all seniors and four year players who have lettered every year. They are veterans and have that game experience and knowledge necessary to take the Silver Knights to the next level.

“We aren’t satisfied with where we finished last year, we want to improve on that and advance in the playoffs,” said Stewart.

If size and strength has any thing to do with it, these guy’s have it all. Stewart is 6’2″ and weighs in at 235lbs, Thompson comes in at 6′ 3″ and 210, Glover at 5’11” 220, Starkey 6’1″ 225 and Harris is listed at 6’2″ and 225. They have all added muscle to their frames and are ready to make some big hits. “We are excited about the season, we have worked hard since last year to improve and can’t wait to make real game contact,” said Thompson.

“This is our senior year and we want to go out with success, we have been taught to never be satisfied with what be have done, last year we were 7-3 and we have everyone back, our goal is to improve on that,” said Glover and Starkey. Devon Harris said, “We want to overcome adversity, we open up with the defending state champs and we have an opportunity to set the tone for the whole season, we have depth and experience in all areas and we will come to play,”

These guys are a big hit with the coaching staff and fans of Tyler Consolidated. Look for them to make some big hits on the field this year as well.
