Tyler Track Brings Home Gold
Local teams fared well during this past weekend’s WVSSAC Track Championships in Charleston.
Tyler Consolidated’s girls’ team won the 4×100 meter relay with a time of 51.50. The team consists of Macy Long, Ariel Fish, Katelyn Gogan and Sydney Glover.
D. McCoy finished 10th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:38.11, while A Reynolds and M. Gogan finished 10th and 11th respectively in the 1600 meter. A. Watson finished 11th in the 3200 meter with a time of 13:41.2. Gogan finished sixth in 100 meter hurdles.
Tyler’s boys’s 4×110 shuttle hurdle team consisting of Joshua Peck, Ted Cerny, Hunter Wells and Andrew Kocher finished second with a time of 1:01.29.
Tyler’s Tyler Anderson finished second in the long jump with a distance of 20’1.50. Cerny finished 10th with a distance of 18’7.50.
In the pole vault, Cerny finished third with a vault of 12’6, while J. Lemasters finished fifth with a height of 11′.
In the boy’s 200 meter dash, Anderson finished fifth with a time of 23.49. T. Shepherd finished 12th with a time of 24.30. In the 800 meter, D. Weekley finished sixth with a time of 2:05.55. In the 110 meter hurdles, Kocher finished 10th with a time of 16.85. D. Harris finished 13th in the discus throw with a length of 114’11.
Elsewhere, Paden City’s shuttle team finished eleventh, respectively. Paden City’s Spencer Billings finished eighth in the shot put.
On the girls’s side, Paden City’s, Abbey Still finished fifth and Kayla Hizer seventh in the 100 meter hurdles, while their 4×200 meter relay team finished tenth and their shuttle team finished seventh. Cydney Blatt scored a medal in the shot put for sixth for the Lady Wildcats.
