Tyler Senior Signs With AB Volleyball Team

The Alderson Broadus volleyball program is pleased to announce that Tyler Consolidated High School Bridget Matthews has been added to the recruiting class of 2015. After visiting the campus and meeting with Coach Cara Bodkins and Assistant Coach Abby Stoner, Bridget accepted their scholarship offer and will be a member of the Battlers Volleyball Team when play begin in September.

Bridget, a three-year letterman for the Knights Volleyball Program, earned over 1,000 kills during her high school career. She was named First Team All-State, All-Tournament Team at the WV State Volleyball Team, First Team LKC, and All-OVAC. In addition, she caught the attention of several college coaches by her play in the OVAC and WV North/ South All-Star games. According to Tyler Consolidated Coach Richard Summers, “Bridget is a tremendous leader and an extremely hard worker. She loves volleyball and committed herself to reaching this goal a few years ago.”

Bridget is excited about the opportunities awaiting her at Alderson-Broaddus.

Bridget is the daughter of Steve and Brenda Matthews of Paden City . As an honor student at TCHS, Bridget was also a member of the Knights Concert and Jazz Bands and was an active member of Hi-Y.

Summers added, “She made her dream come true and I could not be happier for her. She will be a great asset to the Alderson Broadus program.”
