’Cats Score 8 In Final Inning

With both teams hitting well throughout the contest and the scored even at nine entering the final inning, the Wildcats put eight runs on the board in the top of the seventh to take the win.

Paden City open the scoring in the first when Hayden Hizer singled and the next two batters walked to load the bases with no one out. Zack Heasley then struck out and Michael Wilcox popped one up to short and was called out on an infield fly rule. Hizer scored on the play but Levi Meadows was caught in a run down for the cats third out.

Tyler came right back to tie the score in the bottom half of the inning when Colby Buchanan drilled a hard hit ball to left center for a double and then scored on a single by Jordan Baker. Tyler seemed to be in business with no one out but Colby Lash flew out to left and Baker was caught stealing third. Austin Thompson then struck out to end the first.

The Wildcats went scoreless in the second but the Silver Knights put two on the board for a 3-1 lead heading into the third. The cats came right back and plated four in the top half of the inning on three doubles and two singles to climb ahead 5-3 after three. Paden City added three more in the top of the fourth but the strong hitting of Tyler brought five runs across to even things at eight entering the fifth.

Paden City and Tyler both crossed the plate for a run in the fifth to keep things even and it stayed that way until the Cats went to work in the seventh to drive in eight for a 17-9 lead. Tyler added one in the bottom of the inning for the final score Paden City 17, Tyler 10.

For Paden City, Hayden Hizer had two singles and scored three runs, had two singles, two RBI’S and scored a run, Luke Cooper had a good night at the plate with a long double off the fence and two hard hit singles for three RBI’s and he scored three runs, Heasley scored two runs and had a long double off the fence to score a runner in the seventh, Michael Wilcox had a double off the fence and two hard hit singles bringing in two runners, he also scored a run, Kennedy Cain continued hitting the ball well with a single and a double, with three RBI’s and scoring a run, Kolton Elliott had two singles and two RBI’s, Isaac Hall had a single and two doubles while driving in a run. Craig Allen had a single and drove in a run.

Tyler also had a good night at the plate as Colby Buchanan had a long hit double and a single for a run and Jordan Baker smashed three singles and a double on the night scoring three times and having an RBI. Colby Lash had a single, scored a run and had an RBI, Austin Thompson belted a double, scored a run and was credited with an RBI, Dillan Glover had two RBI’s and scored a run, Trent Smith had a single, a double, scored a run and two RBI’s, Dylan Roberts had two singles, a double and two RBI’s.

Luke Cooper and Hayden Hizer worked the mound for the ‘Cats striking out eight and walking nine. For Tyler Jordan Baker took the loss.
