Choir students perform at state

Alyson Avvenire and Regan Smith represented Tyler Consolidated Middle School at the All State Children’s Choir.
Representing Tyler Consolidated High School at the All State Honor Choir recently were Kimmie Boito, Kelsey Bonar, Mason West and Zack Zills.

On March 13 – 14, students representing the Tyler Consolidated Middle and High School Choirs performed in the 2015 All-State Children’s Choir and All-State Honor Choir in Charleston, WV.

Alyson Avvenire and Regan Smith represented Tyler Consolidated Middle School, and Kimmie Boito, Kelsey Bonar, Mason West and Zack Zills represented Tyler Consolidated High School.

The honor choirs are sponsored by the West Virginia Music Educators Association and consists of students across the state that come together for three days to rehearse and prepare under the guidance of a guest conductors. This year’s guest conductor for All-State Children’s Choir was Andy Beck of Alfred Music. The All-State Honor Choir guest conductor was Dr. Rollo Dilworth of Temple University. During rehearsals, students learned new skills in vocal technique from guest conductors. Students from Tyler County were eager to be a part of the rehearsals at all times and excited for their performances.
