Knights drop two at home
The Silver Knights of Tyler Consolidated played two home games last week, coming up short in the scoring department both times.
On Feb. 3 the Knights played host to Ritchie County and surprised the Rebels with a determined effort both defensively and offensively, but took the loss on the chin, 58-56.
The Silver came out shooting fire in the first period, scoring 16 while holding the visitors to nine digits. The Rebels stepped their game up in the second and third periods though, gaining the lead over the home team.
In the fourth quarter, Consolidated did everything but take the actual win as they played with gusto to add to the scoreboard. At the buzzer, the Rebels had the win by a basket, 58-56.
Senior Blake Carpenter lit up the scoreboard for the Silver, adding 19 points to the game total. Jace Reed added 10 points, had two rebounds and three assists; Jonathan Lancaster chipped in seven points and brought down three rebounds; Trent Smith, five points, four rebounds, one assist, one block; Dylan Roberts, five points, three rebounds, one assist; Josh Peck, five points, one rebound, one assist, one steal; Daron Weekley, two points, one rebound, one assist; and Austin Thompson netted one and was credited with two rebounds.
The picture was not real pretty on Feb. 6 as Ravenswood visited at the Keep, winning the game to the tune of 62-29.
The highlight of the night for the home team was Reed contributing 12 points to the final score. He also had tree rebounds and two assists. Carpenter scored nine points and had one rebound; Peck, three points, four rebounds, one assist; Lancaster, three points, two rebounds; Weekley, two points, four rebounds; Roberts, two rebounds, one steal; and Thompson, one rebound.
The Silver Knights hosted Ritchie County on Feb. 7 but statistics have not been reported for that game as yet.
On Feb. 10, Consolidated hosted Parkersburg Catholic. The Knights will travel to Trinity Christian on Feb. 16.
