The Tyler Consolidated Middle School football team has finished up their 2014 season without losing a single game.

The team, coached by head coach Bob Jones and assistant coach D.J. Cunningham, went 8-0 on the season, coming out victorious every time they were tested on the football field this year.

The young Knights traveled to Ritchie County on Oct. 23 for their last game of the regular season, handing the loss to the Trailblazers, 20-6.

With their excellent record, the Silver Knights will be playing in the LKC championship game which is scheduled for Oct. 29 at at 6 p.m. at Knight Stadium. The game will be a rematch of last year’s championships, pitting the Silver and Black against Ritchie County again.

“The boys have worked hard to get to this point,” said assistant coach Cunningham. “It is hard to beat a team twice in a year, especially back to back. They have a very good team.

“I feel if the boys come out ready to play they have a very good shot at winning it all.”

Fans are encouraged to come out and pack the stadium as the young Knights go for the LKC championship on their home field on Oct. 29.
