Lady Wildcats to host Mason Dixon tourn.
Paden City’s Lady Wildcat volleyball team played two matches last week, splitting the wins with Clay-Battelle and St. Marys.
The Lady ‘Cats came up against a tough Clay-Battelle team on Oct. 22, and though they gave them a good battle, the Green and White took the loss, 17-25 and 24-25.
Taylor Cosper earned nine points at the serving line for Paden City (one ace), had one kill and three digs; Megan Pierce had seven points (one ace), six kills, two blocks and a dig; Graeson Baker, seven points, four blocks and three digs; Haley Hizer, seven points, eight kills, two blocks and three digs; Aubrey Neff, six points, 11 assists, one dig; Abbi Still, five points (one ace), 12 kills; Malayna Price had one dig; and Cydney Blatt contributed three kills and two blocks.
Several Lady ‘Cats had a good day at the serving line with five serving in double digits: Neff and Hizer each scored 15 apiece; Cosper and Pierce each added 13; and Baker totaled 11 points on the day. Hier had 14 kills and two blocks while Still dominated with 13 kills, 10 blocks and dig. Kallie Arnett had five kills in the game and Pierce had three digs.
The ‘Cats have amassed a 25-9 win/loss record thus far this season and will add to that record this week as they hosted Williamstown and Magnolia on Tuesday.
Paden City will host the Mason Dixon Conference Volleyball Championships on Saturday with games beginning at 10 a.m.
Sectionals are scheduled to begin next week, with the Regional to be held on Nov. 8 at Tyler.
