Rain doesn’t dampen spirits at Fun Run
The Annual Paden City Labor Day “Fun Run” was held in the city on Sept. 1 with more than 70 participating. The falling rain drops failed to dampen the spirits of the organizers and the participants who found running in the coolness of the rain a plus.
Josh Weekley was the overall male winner at the race finishing in 18:07 with Kayla Hizer taking the women’s first place trophy in 22:34.
Awards were presented in the following divisions:
Oldest Male: Ernie Doll; Oldest Female: Janet Webber
Female divisions: 10 and under 1st place: Katie Cottrill (24:28) 2nd Place: Kadie Hood (29:52); 11-19: 1st place: Tori Anderson (24:58) 2nd Place: Sydney Yoho (26:23); 20-29: 1st place: Tabitha Swartz (27:35) 2nd place: Jacky Marcus (32:40); 30-39: 1st place Amy Yeater (42:21); 40-49: 1st place Angi McDonald (27:41) and 2nd place Debra Price (31:30); 50-59: 1st Place Lisa Daquilante (31:04) and 2nd place Jeanne Davis (34:07); 60-69: 1st place: Debbie Spencer (31:07) and 2nd place Janet Webber 41:15).
Male divisions: 10 and under: 1st place Harley Yeater (42:21) and 2nd place Justin Barker (45:48); 11-19: 1st place James Haught (18:55) and 2nd place Dean Frye (19:28); 20-29: 1st place Ryan Summers (32:41); 30-39: 1st place Johnny Haught (22:07) and 2nd place David Schupbach (22:22); 40-49: 1st place David Benson (20:59) and 2nd place Rodney McWilliams (24:15); 50-59: 1st place Richard Summers (28:09) and 2nd place Scott Mapes (29:07); 60-69: 1st place Jack Lane (26:38) and 2nd place Tommy Nichols (34:36); 70 and over: 1st place Bill Hornbrook (24:51) and 2nd Place Ernie Doll (37:23).
