The WesBanco team took first place at the tournament

The Sistersville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6327 held their annual scholarship tournament at Sistersville Country Club on Aug 16, and is happy to report that the tournament was a great success.

The first flight winner was the WesBanco team consisting of Dave Mendenhall, Josh Mace, John Mendenhall, and Larry DeVol; with second place going to the Ultra Clean team of Denny Crawford, Tim Poe, Chris Poe, and Terry Witfield.

The second flight winning team of Buddy Light, Jeff Hohn, Fred Sulsburger, and

Jamie Cook was sponsored by Buddy Light Insurance. Second place went to the team of Curtis Heintzman, Drew Danser, Richard Danser, and Jim Surface.

With the generous support of area businesses and private donors, the tournament was very successful and will allow the VFW to continue to award a $1,000 scholarship to a senior at each of the local high schools, Tyler Consolidated, Paden City, and Magnolia.

Special thanks also go to the volunteers from the VFW and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary who worked extremely hard to make this event a success.
