Wildcats drop three

The Wildcat baseball team at Paden City High School were able to get in three games last week before Easter, unfortunately, taking the loss in all three.
On April 16 the ‘Cats took on the Maroon Knights of Wheeling Central, falling to the Knights, 4-0. Paden City managed six hits in the game and had one error. Wheeling Central scored their four runs on seven hits and they committed one error.
Junior Kyle Postlethwait worked the mound for the Green and White, walking two and striking two batters out. Michael Wilcox completed the battery.
Wilcox singled twice in the effort and Isaac Hall doubled.
On Saturday the ‘Cats traveled to Bridgeport to play a double header with the Bulldogs, but came out on the short end of the score in both games.

In game one, coach Brent Croasmun used three pitchers in the 9-6 contest: Hall took the loss on the mound, walking five and striking out two; Hayden Hizer took a turn and issued a walk; and Levi Meadows came on in the sixth.
At the plate, Hizer singled and hit a triple; Meadows hit two singles for an RBI and Andrew Dennis doubled.
Game two saw errors headline the story for the Wildcats with six as they fell to their hosts, 7-3.
Cooper went the distance on the mound, striking out one batter and giving up five walks.
Offensively, Hizer doubled; Meadows singled twice for one RBI; Wilcox singled for an RBI; and Deven Price hit three singles in the game.
The Wildcats were scheduled to play at Valley on Monday; at Wheeling Central on Wednesday; at Clay Battelle on Thursday; and will likely play in the OVAC semi-finals on Saturday against Bishop Donahue.
