Things are looking pretty smooth for the softball playing Lady Wildcats of Paden City lately as the team seems to have upped their defensive stats and are getting better at the plate as the season continues.

The team traveled to Wheeling Central on April 2, falling to the Maroon Knights, 12-2.

The ‘Cats two runs were scored on five hits and the team committed four errors. Central scored their 12 runs on 10 hits and had three errors.

Amber Neff pitched two 1/3 innings for the Green and White, striking out one and walking four; Cosper pitched one inning, walking two. Getting key hits for Paden City were: Tori Anderson, Graeson Baker, Nikki Little and Madaline Cox, all with singles and Cosper offering up a double.

On April 6 the Ladies in Green played host to the Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights, scrapping their way to a nice win, 10-0 in three.

Taylor Cosper did the pitching for the home team, striking out three batters. Baker completed the battery.

Offensively, Katie Shreves doubled for PC and collected two RBI’s; Neff and Cox each singled twice in the game and brought home a run apiece. Singling on the day were: Anderson, Baker and Stanley.

The Lady Wildcats will see field time again at River on April 9 and at home on April 10 and 11 as they host Hundred and Wheeling Central.
