A brand new running event has been designed for local runners this season and will take place in Middlebourne. The “Boggs Pizza and Grill Pizza Dash 5K” will be held at the Tyler County Museum on Dodd St. in Middlebourne on April 6 and will benefit local students.

The Pizza Dash 5K is being held in order to raise funds to purchase new timing equipment for the Tyler Consolidated Middle/High School cross country and track teams.

The events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with kids races and the main 5K will begin at 3 p.m. Concessions, games will be available for everyone’s enjoyment. Each participants of the 5K will receive a T-shirt as well as a finisher medal. Also, several awards for different age groups will be presented.

This is the first year for this race and it is hoped the local surrounding communities will support it. “We need all the participation we can get,” one spokesman said.
