The Tyler Consolidated High School volleyball team traveled to Roane County Saturday night to defend their LKC Championship, and finished the night as 2013 LKC Runners-Up.

Ranked as the number two seed in the North, the Lady Knights first had to face the Wirt County Tigers, the number one seed in the South, in the semi-final match. A hard-fought, intense match it was, but the Black and Silver prevailed in five sets with scores of 25-20, 13-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-12.

Carpenter highlighted the game at the serving line for the Silver with 16 points (four aces) gained. She also had two digs, 12 blocks and 13 kills. Senior Hillary Casteel and freshman Madison West each served up seven points and one ace apiece. West also added six digs to her stats. Macy Long chipped in three points from the serving line, had three digs, 10 assists and 32 sets; Megan Carpenter scored two points, had five digs, three blocks and six kills in the effort; Sydney Reed was credited with two points, three digs, two blocks and seven kills; Ariel Fish, one point, ten digs and five kills; Bridget Mathews, one block, five kills; Sydney Yoho, three blocks, two kills; Carly Fletcher, 11 digs.
