Silver Knight alumni invited to come home for basketball games
Graduates of Tyler Consolidated High School are invited to return to the fold for an evening of fun and reminiscing on March 30 as the second annual Alumni Basketball games have been announced for that date.
Last year more than 70 Consolidated graduates returned to their alma mater to participate in men’s and women’s alumni basketball games, as well as cheerleading and band activities. This year, organizers of the event hope to have even more participation.
“Everyone who showed up last year seemed to have a great time,” said a spokesman. “For some it was the first time they had returned to the school since they graduated. We had promises that several of them were going to return this year, and we’re hoping that even more come back and join us on the court.”
“We also had an excellent crowd come out to join in the festivities last year. This event helped to support the track team last year and will do so again this year.”
The present varsity track teams at Tyler Consolidated will again sponsor this years events which will be held on March 30 at the school. Activities will begin with the women’s game at 3:30 p.m., followed by the men’s game at 5:30 p.m. Admission will be $3 for adults and $2 for students.
Any Tyler Consolidated alumni who played men’s or women’s basketball, cheered or played in the Silver Knight band is encouraged to participate in this years activities. There will be a $15 registration fee that will cover the cost of a T-shirt.
Those interested in participating are asked to call J.C. Kimble at 304-771-2210 or 304-758-9000, ext. 193 to register.
