Knights football practice gets underway

Meet the Team festivities will be held at Tyler Consolidated High School on Aug. 20 with many activities planned to bring the community out to support the local athletes and teams.

In order to have more fans attend the “Meet the Team” event, organizers have been working to make the evening enjoyable for everyone.

“We want to add some fun to this annual event,” a spokesman said. “We want to give people something to do while they’re out, bring the community together for a common cause.”

The fun will begin at 4:30 p.m. with games and activities, a rock wall, bounce house, giant slide and demolition ball sponsored by the Family Resource Network.

Food from Bogg’s Pizza and Grill and ice cream provided by the Knight Band Patrons will be served at 5 p.m. and continue while supplies last. Activities will continue until 6:30 p.m. at which time speaker Jim Holler will address the crowd as the guest speaker. The fall sports athletes will be showcased and introduced immediately following Holler.

Sports and activities recognized at the event will be the band, cross country, golf, cheerleading, football, soccer and volleyball teams.
