8th annual ‘Dickson Classic’ set to roll

After a two week layoff, a pitful of heavy hitters converged on the bullring Saturday Night for the 8th Annual Dickson Classic and the STARS Modlites first appearance of the season. As Mother Nature danced around the mile oval most of the day leaving the speedway dry, the sky would eventually open up just after the Renegades of Dirt Modifieds thrilled the fans with some fantastic racing action on the manicured high banks bringing a halt to the highly anticipated event.

Tyler County Speedway will go hammerdown once again this weekend as the Dickson Classic will headline in the $2,000 to win, $200 to start prestigious event. Rain checks will be honored for the next two weeks. Also on the card will be a full night of regular racing in the Wagon Wheel Super Late Model division, United Rental EDGE Late Models, Herrington-Yoak Modlites, Bridgeport Equipment Hotmods, Custom Engraving 4 cylinders and Mini Wedges. The aforementioned STARS Modlites will return to resume their battle for coveted ‘Grassroot Series’points the following Saturday, July 28, as part of the $1,000 to win ‘Pat Herrick Memorial’.

Not only will the Renegades of Dirt be back to settle the Dickson Classic but all race fans are invited to participate in the ‘Rock the Vote’ Night at the speedway. The best fans in motorsports are urged to join us on Facebook and use your voice to vote and help decide how the show will go this coming week. Which class do you want to run first? What concession special would you like? Vote on your favorite driver to carry the American Flag during the National Anthem? Plus much more!

Not convinced that the Tyler County Speedway is the most fan friendly and entertaining speedway in the region? Be sure to bring the kids for fast family fun at the Tyler County Speedway as it’s also Bike Night, where lots of kids will leave the speedway with a brand new bike.

Plus as part of our continued ‘Hometown Heroes’ program all residents of Wood County will receive a free night at the bullring, courtesy of Circle Track Management, just show proof of residency.
